Do they need clothes too? – cat with clothes

Published by Ayami on 2012/09/17 | Leave a response

Last week, I published an article with dog’s clothes. So if I tell you that there are people who put clothes on their cats too. You will be surprised or you have already seen one? On Saturday afternoon, I talked with my best friend from Japan. She asked me about the articles I wrote. After I explained her article about dog’s clothes, she told me that there are 2 people in her apartment who put clothes on their cats. Ok, I didn’t know there are people who do that. First, most of cats in Japan are kept inside the house. They usually don’t go out to take a walk  with people like dogs. So it is not exactly like dogs that are put clothes because of the rain or cold either.

I said most of the cats are kept inside and they don’t go out, but of course there are exceptions. I know a guy who takes his cat out exactly like dogs. He puts a lead to his cat and walk with her. That cat didn’t have a clothes but she had a pretty pink necklace with flower on it. I am somebody who thinks it is a bit silly to put clothes on animals, but I understand their feelings. The companion animal is something very special for us. If they look better with clothes, it is not so wrong to put clothes on them, but if many people put clothes on cats that they keep inside, it is purely for the owners not to show other people how cute their cats are. Hmm,, I don’t know if that makes cats happy though.

I looked like 5 websites that deal clothes for cats. The price is much higher than the ones for dogs. Compared to the clothes for dogs, the sorts are much less too. Since I had a cat before, I understand that it won’t be easy to put clothes on them… My cat came to ask me foods or stroke sometimes, but when I tried to put collar with my address and telephone number on it in case she escaped, she scratched me like I am trying to kill her or something. So maybe most of cats are like mine. They hate to be dressed? Then I understand why there are more collars, necklace, and hats to cats than clothes.

Now there are a lot of people who keep different kinds of companion animals in Japan. We have 4 birds (cockatiel) in our apartment. They are absolutely lovely and we bought some toys or special foods for them too. Well, maybe nobody will make clothes for them, but for rabbits, hamsters, and ducks? Everything is possible. I will keep my eyes on these businesses for our companion animals.

Thank you to read my article!

It is Monday yes, a bit depressing, but let’s have a good week!!
