Gundam Clash

The Gundam series originated from Japan and is one of the most popular mecha series. It has a lot of animes, mangas and videogames under its name. The game SD Gundam Capsule Fighter or SDGO for short is a very popular MMO today. The game was made and released in Korea in 2007 before landing in Japan in 2009. The game play is a third person shooter where the player takes control of not only Gundams but all the other featured units in the series so far. The game also features units from the original Gundam series to the recent one.

There are two modes of playing the game and they are either Missions or PVP. The Mission mode lets you along with 3 other player complete a certain mission which pits you to do several objectives in a scenario. Your only opposition or CPU units and the difficulty setting on these missions can be adjusted from very easy to expert. The PVP mode is where you fight against 6 other players on one side and you and 5 other players on your side. Depending on the PVP mode chosen you simply need to destroy as many enemy players before time runs out. Completing missions and PVP matches rewards you with points which count as currency, experience for you and the unit that you used.

When you gain enough experience you level up granting you access to higher level quests and increasing your rank. When your unit gains experience it grows as well making it more efficient by learning several passive skills. The units in the game are based on previous Gundam series. There are three types of them which are rock, scissor and paper. Their strengths and weakness depend on the rule of the children’s game where rock beats scissor and so on. The rock types are melee fighters, the scissor types are mid range and the paper types are good at long distance fighting.

They are also ranked in 4 different levels such as rank D, C, B, A and S. The higher the rank the stronger the unit is. Then again player skill would still play a factor. In order to get the units you may want, you need to gamble by spending points at the capsule machines where you get 1 out of the 6 predetermined units for each capsule which comes at random. There are also unit plans which are expensive but they are fixed and aren’t random. You just need the right unit ingredients to fill the plans’ requirements. If you are a Gundam fanatic then you should play this as this is like the Allstar meet of the Gundam series. The game is available to play in numerous Asian countries including North America and Australia. I’m actually playing it on the Southeast Asia server for 7 months now and its really good.
