Since I’ve already written an article regarding the Megaman series as a whole it’s time now to take and in depth look at the individual games that make up this ground breaking series. We’ll just talk about the general details of the game, back stories as well as new added game content if there are and the Robot Masters that stand in your way.
Megaman 1 was released back in 1987 for the Famicom and was one of the best 2D platformers of the console. The story follows two scientists namely Dr. Light and Dr. Wily as they create robots to better ease the life of people. The two had managed to create a lot of unique robots fit to take on the hardest and dangerous form of jobs there are. Due to a bit of jealousy, Dr. Wily and Dr. Light had a little falling out and Dr. Wily stole several robots in which the two of them built. In true mad scientist fashion, Dr. Wily was bent on world domination. Then enter Dr. Light’s other project whereas to create a boy robot by the name of Megaman. Megaman was tasked on destroying the 6 Robot Masters and defeating Dr. Wily in the process.
The only distinct aspect of game play in Megaman 1 was the inclusion of the Magnet Beam weapon which wouldn’t return in later games.
Robot Masters
Cut Man was made to help in the lumberjack department. He would be responsible for cutting down trees and forestation activities. He uses ceramic titanium scissors as his weapon of choice and the Rolling Cutter can be obtained from him.
Guts Man was made to help with heavy duty construction purposes. His tough exterior and strong arms are perfect for the job. He isn’t very smart though but that’s not one of his strong points anyway and the Super Arm can be obtained from him.
Ice Man was made to help with any occupation set in areas with extreme cold climate conditions. He could create and use ice as his weapons. He is perhaps a very smart robot and his appearance depicts so and the Ice Slasher can be obtained from him.
Bomb Man was made for demolition purposes. He could toss grenades and bombs and destroy any unwanted buildings. He was meant to be paired with Guts Man as he was to destroy and Guts Man was to create. He isn’t as smart like Guts Man and the Hyper Bomb can be obtained from him.
Fire Man was made to help work in the incinerator for waste irrigation purposes. His flames boast the power to rise up to 7,000 degrees though not sure if Celsius or Fahrenheit. He can use flame throwers as his weapon and the Fire Storm can be obtained from him.
Elec Man was made to help the voltage management of dangerous power plant buildings. He can discharge a ton of electricity at the tip of his fingertips. Dr. Light considers him his best creation being able to think upon his whim. The only problem was that he was a bit arrogant and the Thunder Beam can be obtained from him.
