04) Castlevania
The Castlevania series has had a lot of games under its name and the art style of the series is not known for its anime looks. They have that middle aged European painting appeal to them. Regardless, the recent handheld Castlevania games have had that anime style approach which leads the possibility of an anime adaptation. There are many timelines where the series can center upon although one I would like to see is the Demon Castle Wars segment animated. Then they could have a game based on that series which would be kind of cool. This does speak of wellness since Castlevania and anime rarely meet.
03) Megaman X
One would ask why not the original Megaman but let’s face it the X series is better for the adaptation. First of all they had a half hour OVA in one of the X games titled the Day of Sigma. The X series has a lot of grounds for an anime adaptation. One thing is that it has a darker tone and a more mature content. They could do a story after the end of X 8 since that seems to be the best route for now leading up to Megaman Zero. Then if they want to tie in the original they could also link it to the timeline after the end of Megaman leading up to the X series with the focal point being in the latter.
02) Soul Edge
The Soul Calibur series may have had the edge with a lot of the games under its name but the very first game under it called Soul Edge needs some love. The game was good but the story fell a bit short and transitioning to Soul Calibur left some question marks. There are a lot of grounds Soul Edge can move around let alone a plethora of characters to work with. Evidently the action and sword slash fighting will also be one to look out for. Then again story would also need to be fluent and clear.
01) Chrono Trigger
Chrono Trigger’s story was great on its own and the game is definitely one of the best RPGs of all time. The thing that would make the supposed anime adaptation would be the involvement of Akira Toriyama who handled the character models and art of the game. Those who don’t know but Toriyama is the man behind hit series like Blue Dragon and Dragon Ball. The story that the series should adapt should be somewhere or sometime in the game’s timeline. I’m pretty much confident that they can pull this off well as long as Toriyama’s involved.
That concludes our Top 10 list of the videogames that need some form of anime adaptation.
